Dan is a military veteran who has served as a Risk Management, Environmental Health, and Safety professional for 30 years in a variety of occupational/environmental safety, health, and risk management positions with various North Carolina Public school districts during his career.

He currently holds the following certifications, Certified Safety Professional, Certified School Risk Manager, Certified Playground Safety Inspector, OSHA Authorized 10-30 Outreach Trainer, Six Sigma Green Belt, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, National Safety Council (NSC) Lift truck operator Instructor.

2017 – Fred Freiberger

The Tarheel Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers formally inducted Fred Freiberger into their Hall of Fame in a ceremony taking place at the North Carolina Statewide Safety Conference in Greensboro, North Carolina on May17, 2017. Mr. Freiberger is the first-ever Hall of Fame inductee of the Tarheel Chapter which was chartered in 1961. The honor is based on several criteria including leadership, years of service, and promotion of the Safety profession.
