Dan is a military veteran who has served as a Risk Management, Environmental Health, and Safety professional for 30 years in a variety of occupational/environmental safety, health, and risk management positions with various North Carolina Public school districts during his career.
He currently holds the following certifications, Certified Safety Professional, Certified School Risk Manager, Certified Playground Safety Inspector, OSHA Authorized 10-30 Outreach Trainer, Six Sigma Green Belt, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, National Safety Council (NSC) Lift truck operator Instructor.
Dan has been a member of ASSP since 2010 and has served in various Chapter and Regional leadership roles to include Membership Chair, President Elect, President, Delegate, Nominations and Elections Chair and Chapter Webmaster. Under Dan’s leadership the Tarheel chapter achieved ASSP Platinum level recognition for chapter year 2014-15. Dan was awarded the Tarheel Chapter Safety Professional of the Year award for the 2015–2016-chapter year. Dan served as the Region 6 Assistant Vice President for Member/Chapter affairs from 2018-2021.
Dan has also been a Board Member of the Charlote Regional Safety and Health Conference
