Hurricane Michael Aid

Good afternoon ASSP members,

There certainly has been no shortage of severe weather this year. I’m sure all of you are aware of the approach of Hurricane Michael and its potentially catastrophic impact on many parts of the southeastern United States this week. The storm is expected to strike the Florida Panhandle at least as a Category 3 hurricane, bringing destructive winds and life-threatening flooding. Hurricane Michael could be the strongest storm to hit the northeastern Gulf Coast in 13 years.

Tarheel Chapter Receives Silver Chapter WISE Distinction Award

Congratulations to the Tarheel Chapter for obtaining a Silver Chapter WISE Distinction Award!!  The Tarheel chapter was 1 of 6 chapters receiving an award this year.

Lesli Johnson and Karen LaRue presented the awards at the ASSP PDC – WISE Networking Event.  We presented one award for the team and provided certificates to each of the primary ChapterWISE team members who make everything happen for your chapter.

Kulema McCoy awarded 2018 Tarheel Chapter Safety Professional of the Year

Kulema McCoy, who transferred to the Tarheel Chapter from the Piedmont Triad chapter and was thrust into the president’s role, was presented the ASSE Tarheel Chapter Safety Professional of the Year trophy for 2018 for her great work.
